US consumer health data privacy
Last updated 12-10-2026
Who this is for
This policy is for people in the United States who use MyDoctor's own health services (MyDoctor AI, health and wellness scores, self-checks, Clinical Expert Reviews). When a United States practice uses MyDoctor for your care, that practice's HIPAA notice applies instead.
Consumer health data we collect
What you tell us about your health and wellness (answers to self-checks and scores, questions to MyDoctor AI, reports you upload for a review), your account details, and technical data needed to keep the service secure.
Why we use it
Only to provide the service you asked for, keep it safe, meet legal duties, and improve MyDoctor using de-identified statistics. We do not sell consumer health data, use it for targeted advertising, or share it for others' advertising.
Consent
We ask for your consent before collecting consumer health data, separately from any other consent. You can withdraw it at any time in My data & privacy; we then stop collecting it and erase it on request.
Sharing
We share it only with the MD/PharmD Clinical Expert MyDoctor Staff who review your case, and with service providers that run MyDoctor under contracts (hosting on Amazon Web Services, MyDoctor AI on Amazon Bedrock, email). We never sell it.
Location
We do not use geofencing around health care facilities and do not track your precise location.
Your rights
You can see what we hold, get a copy, have it corrected or erased, and withdraw consent: My data & privacy, or email support [at] mydoctor.social. We answer within 45 days. You can appeal a decision by replying to our answer; if you are not satisfied you can contact your state attorney general.
Security breaches
If consumer health data is breached, we tell you and the Federal Trade Commission within the time the FTC Health Breach Notification Rule requires (within 60 days), and state authorities where required.
