Provider terms (profiles)

Last updated 12-10-2026

Who these terms are for

These Provider terms (version 23 October 2026) apply to every doctor, dentist, nurse, therapist, pharmacist, clinic, hospital, laboratory and pharmacy with a profile or an account on MyDoctor (mydoctor.social), provided by MODERNUS HEALTH TECHNOLOGIES PRIVATE LIMITED ("MyDoctor"). They are read together with the Terms of use, the Privacy policy, Directory & Profile Score, SEO, ads & sponsored placements, and, when you subscribe to a plan, the Client terms and your quote. When this version changes, MyDoctor shows the new version in your account and asks you to accept it again.

MyDoctor is a technology platform

MyDoctor is a technology platform that facilitates finding and contacting providers, booking, video visits, payments and practice software. MyDoctor does not practise medicine, does not give medical advice, does not employ the providers listed on it and does not endorse any provider or guarantee any outcome. In India, for content that providers publish, MyDoctor acts as an intermediary under section 79 of the Information Technology Act, 2000.

You are responsible for your profile and your care

You are responsible for everything on your profile (name, qualifications, registration, services, fees, hours, photos and every claim) and for keeping it true and current. You are responsible for the care you give: examination, consent, records, prescriptions, follow-up, referral and emergencies. You keep your registrations and licences valid where you practise and, for video visits, where your patients are.

Advertising rules you follow

India: the code of conduct of your council and system of medicine, including the Indian Medical Council (Professional Conduct, Etiquette and Ethics) Regulations, 2002 as applied by the National Medical Commission and the NMC Guidelines on Ethical Advertising and Public Communication of 6 October 2026; for homoeopathy the National Commission for Homoeopathy code of conduct of 2022; for Ayurveda, Siddha, Unani and Sowa-Rigpa the NCISM (Ethics and Registration) Regulations, 2023; the dental, nursing and pharmacy councils; the Drugs and Magic Remedies (Objectionable Advertisements) Act, 1954; and the Consumer Protection Act, 2019. United States: your state board's advertising rules, the FTC Act, the FTC Endorsement Guides (16 CFR Part 255) and the Consumer Reviews and Testimonials Rule (16 CFR Part 465), and HIPAA. In practice: no claims of cure or guaranteed results, no "best", "No. 1", "leading" or "most trusted" claims, no patient testimonials, before-and-after photos or paid reviews, no comparisons with other providers, and no inducements. Doctors show their qualifications and registration number. MyDoctor's editor blocks some of these words; you remain responsible for what you publish.

Telemedicine

India: video visits follow the Telemedicine Practice Guidelines of 25 March 2020 for modern medicine, the Telemedicine Practice Guidelines adopted by the Board of Governors of the Central Council of Homoeopathy with the approval of the Ministry of AYUSH (public notice of 10 April 2020) for homoeopathy, and the telemedicine guidelines for Ayurveda, Siddha and Unani (CCIM, 7 April 2020) with the NCISM regulations. So every recognised system of medicine can consult by video on MyDoctor TeleHealth within its own guidelines. Identify the patient, take consent, keep records, prescribe only what the guidelines allow by video, and ask the patient to visit in person when needed. Video visits are not for emergencies. United States: be licensed in the state where the patient is at the time of the visit and follow that state's telehealth and prescribing rules.

Badges and checks

Documents checked (included): MyDoctor staff saw a registration or licence document on the date shown; it is not a confirmation by your council. MyDoctor Verified (premium): a MyDoctor team member checked your identity and registration on a video call or at your address; it is shown for 12 months. You pay for the check, never for the badge: the badge appears only after a passed check, and MyDoctor may remove any badge if the information turns out to be wrong. The MyDoctor Profile Score measures how complete and verified a profile is, not clinical quality.

Paid places, and no paid ranking of doctors

Sponsored and Featured places are offered only to clinics, hospitals, laboratories and pharmacies, and are always labelled. MyDoctor never ranks individual doctors, dentists, nurses, therapists or pharmacists higher because they pay (NMC guidelines of 6 October 2026, paragraph 9.4); for them MyDoctor Verified is a trust badge only. Payment never changes Profile Scores, ratings or reviews. MyDoctor's charges are platform and service fees for software, booking, payments and visibility services, never a commission for referring patients, and are not linked to the referral of individual patients.

Reviews

Only patients with a completed visit on MyDoctor can review a provider. Providers cannot buy, write, edit or remove reviews, and must not offer anything for a review; a provider can report a review to MyDoctor.

Content checks and removal

MyDoctor may refuse, hide or remove content or a profile that breaks these terms or the law, may remove a badge, and may suspend or close an account after a serious or repeated breach, with notice where the law allows.

Complaints about content (India)

Write to the Grievance Officer, the Grievance Officer, through our contact form. Under the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021, as amended in 2026, MyDoctor acknowledges a complaint within 24 hours and resolves it within 7 days; acts within 36 hours on a request to remove content the Rules prohibit; within 2 hours on a complaint about intimate or impersonating images; and within 3 hours on a court order or a reasoned notice from an authorised government officer. You may appeal a decision of the Grievance Officer to the Grievance Appellate Committee within 30 days.

Payments

Your free profile stays free. Plans, passes, add-ons and services are optional and are charged only when you choose them, at the prices shown in your MyDoctor account (plus GST in India). Payments are final, as set out in Payments, cancellations & refunds.

Patient data

You decide what patient information you record; MyDoctor processes it for you as a data processor (India) or business associate (United States). Sign the Data Processing Agreement (India) or Business Associate Agreement (United States) in your account before adding patients.

Law

Indian providers: Indian law, with courts or arbitration seated in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. United States providers: the laws of Texas. The parties first try to settle any dispute by talking for 30 days.
